I was recently informed by someone whose address book
I am in that he had found a virus that someone had
attached to his computer.  It supposedly attaches to
everyone on his address book and his /her C drive.
Upon checking I found that the virus was on my C
drive.  Therefore, since you are in my address book,
you may have the virus on your computer too.  The
virus (called jdbg,exe) is not detected by Norton or
MacAfee Anti-virus software.  The virus sits quietly
for 14 days before damaging the system.  It is sent
automatically by "messenger" and by address book,
whether or not you have sent e-mail to your contacts.
Here is how to check for the virus and get rid of it.

My apologies for any incovenience to you for this.

1.    Go to Start and click the Find or Search
option.

2.    In the Folder option type the name ... jdbgm

3.    Be sure to search your C drive and all the
folders and any other drives you might have.

4.    Click "Find Now".

5.    The virus has a TEDDY BEAR icon with the name
"jdbgmgr.exe".  DO NOT OPEN!

6.    Go to Edit menu and Select All to select the
files without opening them.

7.    Now DELETE the files.  If you find the virus,
you should contact all of the people in your address
book so they can eradicate the virus from their own
address books.  To do this:



a.    Open a new e-mail message

b.    Click the icon Address Book next to TO

c.    Highlight every name and add to BCC

d.    Copy this message and paste into the new message
